I have to say, I wasn’t expecting anything major. For some reason, being involved in education for over 10 years, right here in the heart of Silicon Valley, has made me more skeptical about the intentions behind education reform.
Not to mention, we are living in very different times. So many of the things we were once told about education have changed. And regardless of your background, education is now at the center of so many conversations.
What should change, and what should remain? How should education evolve in response to AI, cellphone use, social media, and the rapidly changing world our children are growing up in? What will the next generation need to succeed in their futures and careers?
Everything is moving at such a fast pace.
So, to my surprise, as I read this article, I felt hopeful.

All the work so many of us have put into education over the years—asking for a seat at the table, participating in committees, making recommendations, and educating decision-makers about what is really happening in classrooms, and about our children’s experiences, feelings, and frustrations—may finally be paying off.
