Today marks the start of a new adventure for me.
After a couple of years of hesitancy due to a lot of work still to be done in the Palo Alto PTA Council, I finally accepted to join California Sixth District PTA.
Today, I am beyond honored and humbled to share with you that while I remain at the Palo Alto PTA Council as VP of Leadership, I will hold the position of VP of Programs and Family Engagement at the Sixth District.
A position that is certainly close to my heart since it not only encompasses :
Taking care of the Reflections Program, a program that I brought back to the Palo Alto PTA Council a couple of years ago.
The HSA(Honorary Service Awards) celebration, an event I had the honor to organize for 2 years during my tenure as the Executive Vice-President of the Palo Alto PTA Council from 2022-2024, which honors and recognizes those who stand out by their care and commitment to our kids.
Other events aim to bring together and continue building community, camaraderie, and increase the sense of belonging, ultimately uniting.
Sixth District oversees part of Northern California and serves approximately 225 PTA Units.
It encompasses Santa Clara, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties, and is one of 28 PTA Districts that make up the California State PTA.
Sixth District PTA is made up of 9 Council PTAs that help govern and manage regions within Sixth District PTA.
I have always thought that when you want things to change for good and make a positive impact anywhere, you need to be present, active, and claim that seat at the table, responsibly representing those voices that are the least heard and do what is right.
As long as I can remember, I have been doing this for a very long time, since I was a teenager.
Starting today, I will participate actively at a Unit, Council, and District levels.
Very thankful for the encouragement from the California State PTA Officers to cheer me on in this role, and for the support and trust from people I admire who share my love, passion, and genuine care for bringing the PTA mission to life.
